Annette Kristina Arlander is an artist, researcher and teacher, and one of the pioneers in Finnish performance art, and a trailblazer in artistic research. She graduated as director in 1981 and Doctor of Arts in theatre and drama in 1999, worked as a Professor of Performance Art and Theory at the Theatre Academy from 2001 to 2013, as Professor of Artistic Research in Uniarts Helsinki from 2015 to 2016, and as Professor in Performance, Art and Theory at Stockholm University of the Arts from 2018 to 2019.
